
| A person or thing has universal meaning because they represent nothing less than the whole world which made their existence possible; and coming from that world, we have its structure in common. This includes the opposites of straight line and curve, as old as reality, and taking new forms daily. Straight line and curve are in a fresh faced young woman in Central Park, and in the inconceivably older bedrock behind her. As we spoke of these things, she showed how much she liked what she heard, and I was moved to photograph what I saw. |
